Celebrate the season with this cozy autumn felting workshop! In this fun and beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to create a set of festive stacked pumpkins using needle felting techniques. Whether displayed as a centerpiece or given as a handmade gift, your finished piece will bring warmth and charm to your fall decor.
What You’ll Learn:
Needle felting techniques for shaping and layering
Tips for safely using felting needles
How to create dimensional forms and finishing touches
Materials:
Wool roving will be provided for all participants.
A felting kit—including felting needles, felting pad, and ribbon—will be available as an optional add-on for those who want don't have their own tools for a fee of $20.
If you would like to bring your own supplies, please bring felting needles and a felting pad (ribbon is optional). We will supply the wool roving. Please contact us at programs@folkartguild.org for questions about materials.
No experience needed. All are welcome!

Age Requirements:
Open to ages 8 and up (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, as we’ll be working with sharp needles). If you have questions about age requirements, please contact us for more information at programs@folkartguild.org
No Experience Necessary:
This class is designed for all skill levels. While felting is fun and relaxing, we do use sharp needles, so please keep your eyes on your hands as you work.
Pricing: The class fee is $25. There is an additional optional materials fee of $20 (total cost of $45). Your class fee supports the instructor's fees and administrative costs such as marketing and registration coordination. Scholarships are available for those who are unable to afford the workshop. Please email programs@folkartguild.org to inquire about reduced tuition for all of our programs.
About the Instructor:
Lisa DeFrancesco, a Geneva, NY native, brings a wealth of creative experience to her classes. After teaching science in NYC public schools and running a small business for 20 years, she returned to Geneva to explore her artistic passions. Lisa is inspired by nature, incorporating birds and natural history into her work. In addition to teaching felting, rug hooking, weaving, and printmaking, she leads kayak and nature tours along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. She is also a board member of the Dove Block Project in Geneva, NY.
