Join printmaker Linda Griswold Davis for a full day of block printing on fabric. This workshop introduces you to the process of designing, carving, and printing your own linoleum block, with a focus on printing on cotton fabrics. Linda has more than 30 years of teaching experience and brings a clear, supportive approach to helping students explore this traditional craft.

This class is open to all skill levels. Beginners are welcome, and returning students will find plenty of room to experiment and extend their skills.

Workshop Structure

Students will learn how to design and carve a soft-kut linoleum block, transfer an image, and use the carving tools safely and effectively. The class will cover how to prepare cotton fabric for printing, how to apply ink, and how to get clear, consistent prints. This is a hands-on and flexible workshop, with time to experiment, try different fabrics, and make multiple prints using a range of ink colors.

Students may bring their own carving tools, or they may purchase an optional $30 tool kit at registration. More details below.
