November 14: Wet Felting Workshop

$160.00

nstructor: Lisa DeFrancesco
Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026
Time: 10 AM - 4 PM
Location: Rochester Folk Art Guild, East Hill Farm, Middlesex, NY

Join fiber artist Lisa DeFrancesco for a hands-on introduction to wet felting. In this one-day workshop, participants will learn how loose wool fibers can be transformed into a strong, seamless fabric using water, soap, and agitation.

Working step by step with the instructor, participants will create a wet felted clutch or small bag. Once the bag is formed, you’ll learn needle felting techniques to add decorative elements and make the piece your own. Buttons and other materials will also be available for finishing your bag. Along the way, you’ll learn the basic techniques of wet felting and gain the skills to continue experimenting with felting at home.

No previous felting experience is required. All skill levels are welcome. Suggested for students ages 12 and older.

Materials:
All wool, felting materials, tools, and supplies are included in the cost of the workshop. Participants should bring a towel and wear clothing or an apron they don't mind getting wet.

Lunch will be provided

Scholarships are available for those who are unable to afford the workshop. Please email programs@folkartguild.org to inquire about reduced tuition for all of our programs.

No experience needed. All are welcome!
